November 2017 – Alternatives Community Program Services has been passionate about improving the quality of life for people living with developmental disabilities for over 30 years. Supporting 250+ individuals and their families annually, Alternatives provides opportunities for learning and skill development in the areas of employment, volunteerism, recreation and community involvement.
Alternatives outgrew and sold its two properties and purchased St. George’s Church at 270 Braidwood Avenue. We are excited to call the Braidwood neighbourhood our new home and eager to revitalize this amazing community gathering space.
Renovations have been moving along very well, with great consideration given to long-term sustainability, environmental impact, using local products and services as well as our overall focus on accessibility.
We have ceased renovations this month to focus our efforts on raising money. Our Capital Campaign is reaching out to our community, our neighbours and our friends to help us complete this project.
Your gift to the Braidwood Neighbourhood Project will see this building transformed into a safe and accessible community space for people living with disabilities and other members of our community for many years to come.
